Over the years our team gained more experience and tools for cutting, shaping, and welding metal into our designs. Our F2K machines gradually transitioned from wood to metal, to more metal, to even more metal until in our 2009 American Chucker has only one wooden part, the wheel rails.
I kind of hope the wooden rails hold out a little longer, but the hardcore engineers on the team are making a lot of noise about I-beams or some other metal track. Our capabilities took another leap when Tim let us start building our designs in the high bay of the metal barn he built and testing them in his field.
