Kenneth 'Jack Miller' Cox

(e-mail) kenneth.cox@incirlik.af.mil
(married) 8 years
(spouse) Aysen Alpay
(children) Ali Osman (5 years), Kevin Dera (6 mos.)
(gchildren) Tanwana Queensther, Fernando Joaquin
(pets) jimmy (sunflower), rex (beef steak tomatoe)
(livenow) Adana, Turkey (6 months)
(lived-visited) Izmir, Turkey (3 years)
(live-visitlater) would like to live out my days dancing to soca music in Puerta Plata, D.R.
(jobnow) Currently 6 months into a sweet 3 year contract on Incirlik air base for Vinell Brown and Root (owned by the effervescent VP himself, Mr. Dick "I'm comin' Elizabeth" Cheney)
(jobbefore) well...my favorite job had to be washing dishes with my old buddy Mike Messinger for three months in the basement of a hotel in London.  My most loathsome: teaching English to a class of 25 seven year olds for my first year in Turkey.
(joblater) salvage operator on the Panama Canal
(schools) FIU, BSCE, 1987 (It takes a while, when you drop so many classes); Dokuz Eylul University, Bus. Mgt, 2000 (Summa Cum Laude)
(talents-claims to fame) I can make a mean salad, and bake a killer bran muffin (aka the 'colon blow' muffin)
(achievements) learned how to speak a fair patch of Turkish.  I learned it mostly on construction sites in Izmir.
(newgoals) I want to have a business of my own, but it keeps getting back burnered.
(favmemories) driving jillions of friends home in my '65 Falcon.  From the window of the Falcon, and often in the middle of a field, asking strangers to direct us to a place written on a piece of paper.  The place, of course, was "over there".  With the aid of garbage-can-throwing henchmen John Heider and Mike Messinger, thwarting the efforts of Charlie Little, as he feebly attempted to chase us (again while trailblazing through various fields and alleyways) after school.  Designing the headgear for pep rallies, writing the Snits skit, until 6AM, getting the Parakeet Pleaser poster for my birthday, driving in Larry's 'Abortion from Detroit' (Mr. Grace coined the name, not me), free Kiwanis Lunches, Jack Miller, abusing the Colonel (you go to Kuh-kuh-nut Gruf?), at a Birthday having all the furniture in my house put into the front yard by all of my lovely friends, and the last but least biggest memory (drum roll, please), our epic trip to the Key Club Convention in New Orleans, in (you got it) the Falcon.
(favteachers) I like Barbara Heide's pick of Ms. Strachen.  She's not an Oscar winner like Jaseicki, or Obrentz, but she had a great teaching manner.  She could control the class, and she could teach without intimidation.  And she's black.  I like that.
(favsongs) anything by Rush (I wish I could make my voice do that)
(favnow) write e-mail, eat bran muffins, play with my wife and my kids (don't throw up now), work in the garden (I hear the sound of wretching), and read non-fiction (hey! the splatter is getting on my pants!)
